Indie pop rockstars Young Rising Sons shook up the Rebel Lounge with 44 Blonde, and Phoenix local bands Bethany Home and Diva Bleach.

Bethany Home Beloved locals Bethany Home band opened the show at Rebel, a treat just for Phoenix fans.  The crowd was absolutely ecstatic when the band hit the stage.  Their classic indie-west-coast sound was a really great way to start the show. They have a great stage presence, keeping the show engaging and making it that much more fun. Many people who were sitting in the back stood up to see what the band was about, and those on their feet were jumping and dancing. Song Review: Debut Single ‘twisted play’ by Piper Connolly

A young rockstar with a mature sound, Piper Connolly has stepped on the rock n' roll scene in a big way.

Piper Connolly, a 13 year old rockstar from Phoenix, has released her new debut single “twisted play”. The song beautifully captures the feeling of escaping the confines society has on you and learning how to be who you are - a deep yet important topic for someone so young. Despite being so young, Connolly's sound is mature, having been described as "Adderall-laden cotton candy” and compared to legends like Avril Lavigne and Paramore. Connolly takes influence from early rock n' roll and grunge and its evident in this debut. Throughout the verses she maintains a deep tonality with her voice that plays well off the rhythm of the drums. Even though she is young, her voice is rich and soulful, feeling much beyond her years. A beautiful sunny day in Phoenix, the wind blows a bit hard and then stills. The light rail bell chimes and a few birds chirp. Sophia and I sit at a small table outside a local coffee shop, both drinking iced lattes. What was supposed to be an interview with preplanned questions I had written down, transformed into an easily flowing conversation. I quickly turned on my voice recording, already knee deep in conversation. Sophia is born and raised in Arizona, a rarity around here. While she grew up in Anthem, she moved to Downtown Phoenix to attend Arizona State University to pursue music. Her Start "I didn't really have any musical influences as a kid," she told me.
